For those of you are wondering what happened to me last Thursday. - I was enjoying a leisurely morning when I heard the sound of sirens pulling up outside my house. I looked out the window to see a team of paramedics pulling up to my neighbors house. As they pulled up, my neighbor (Henriqua) ran out of the house with her 3 month old infant who had stopped breathing. They rushed the baby to the hospital in the ambulance and I joined Henriqua in a squad car on the way to the hospital.
Upon arriving at the hospital we were escorted to a room where we could cry, and pray and wait. After an eternity, the doctor came in to tell us that the baby had died.
Darnell was the last surviving baby of Henriqua's triplets. The first two died in childbirth, but Darnell survived. He was diagnosed with minor lung problems, but those problems were enough that they eventually stopped his heart while he was asleep.
This I know - No Mother should ever have to experience the death of her child. If ever there was a time to cling to the goodness of God, and to burn with hatred for evil - today is that day.
I wanted to thank all of you who prayed. Peace and Grace won out the day. I will be conducting a memorial service on Thursday at 11am and I also volunteered myself to bring flowers. I really appreciated all of the support through twitter and facebook. I got many of your prayers right after we received word that Darnell had died. If any of you would like to participate further, you may donate flowers by bringing them to the office on Tuesday or Wednesday or send me some money (drop at the office or click on the donate button) and I will purchase them for you.
In the meantime. Praise God for His mercies are new every morning.
